Lean
What is Lean?
Lean is a methodology focusing on aggressively eliminating waste and reducing complexity in all aspects of business and manufacturing. Waste is defined as defects, overproduction, transportation, waiting, inventory, motion, and processing (DOTWIMP). Focusing on these specific 7 wastes, we see dramatic increase in customer satisfaction by reducing cost, rework, and cycle time. Lean is not just a process improvement methodology; Lean is culture change throughout every level of your organization.
Lean production and Lean manufacturing processes were derived from the Toyota Production Systems (TPS) which focus on continuous flow, mixed model production, demand, and pull.
SBTI is a full service business consultancy. A core competency is delivering operational excellence into your business. Three variations of this may be:
A) SBTI Lean Leaders identify and implement lean improvements within your organization
B) SBTI can train your personnel and support your organization until it is a fully functional Lean Enterprise
C) A combination of both A and B to optimize ROI and internalization
To the Executive
SBTI’s Lean Enterprise methodology and its tools will improve your bottom line and achieve breakthroughs in your delivery processes to your customers. Rapid and focused efforts in Kaizen Events with SBTI regularly achieve between $50K and $250K per event. In rapid turn-around situations, our customers have applied sequential Kaizen events and achieved over $1M in bottom line savings in as little as 13 weeks.
SBTI has the only Lean tools and Methodology with proven results. Our Lean Consultants regularly train Lean Leader®s, who become your internal Lean experts deploying Lean manufacturing techniques and tools throughout your organization.
To get the full benefits of Lean tools and Methods, Executives must:
1. “Learn by doing” Lean in Kaizen Events,
2. Become Champions for Lean Enterprise Deployment,
3. Engage and support the organization from top to bottom in identifying opportunities
To the Manager
Lean techniques, tools and methods can improve your organizational efficiency, smooth your operational flow, and free up resources. Applying lean principles will remove waste throughout your delivery chain, making deliveries more predictable, and reduce lead times. Floor space can be optimized, allowing for expanded operational capacity.
Rapid changes can be made with Kaizen events allowing you to “turn-around” chronic problem areas in your product or service delivery.
Empowering the Masses
Lean invests in your ability to make powerful changes and innovation to your work area by improving work flow, decreasing complexity, and increasing safety. Lean Learning is facilitated through Kaizen events and training. These lean production principles can be applied anywhere to improve efficiency and remove waste.
Implementing SBTI’s Lean Tools will decrease rework and make your work environment efficient, more productive, and flexible. SBTI’s Lean tools and methods will make you a more valuable employee and may enhance your career opportunities.
