San Marcos, Texas, November 25, 2007 - Sigma Breakthrough Technologies,
Inc., an international business process solutions consulting firm,
announced today Susan Schall was named a Fellow of ABET (Accreditation
Board for Engineering and Technology).
Susan O. Schall was named a Fellow of ABET at ABET’s Annual
Awards Banquet in Lake Tahoe, NV November 1st. The ABET Fellow Award
is presented annually to recognize those individuals who have given
sustained quality service to the ABET-related professions and to
education within the ABET disciplines through the activities of
ABET. Susan was recognized for “outstanding contributions
to the Partnership to Advance Volunteer Excellence and for exemplary
service to both the Engineering and Computing Accreditation Commissions.”
Susan is a Senior Member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers
(IIE) and the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Susan represented
IIE on the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) from
1997-2003 and now represents IIE on the ABET Board of Directors.
As a member of the Board, Susan serves as the Board Liaison to the
Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC), is a member of the Partnership
to Advance Volunteer Excellence (PAVE) Implementation Steering Team,
and leads the Educational Delivery Strategic Task Team.
Susan has over 20 years experience delivering improved performance
using engineering, statistical and business process improvement
methodologies, including Six Sigma, team-based problem-solving,
lean manufacturing techniques, and strategic planning. Susan received
a BS in Mathematics from the State University of New York, College
at Fredonia, and BS, MS, and PhD in Industrial Engineering from
Penn State University.
ABET is a federation of 28 professional and technical societies
providing leadership and quality assurance in applied science, computing,
engineering, and technology education. ABET accredits educational
programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology.
